Lufthansa Increases Capacity Between Athens And Frankfurt
Lufthansa German Airlines has reported that for the first time more than 300,000 passengers in the month of July have traveled between Athens and Germany. Due to high demand, the carrier in April placed an Airbus A300-600 instead of and A 320/321 on the route, which increased capacity by 26% and allows a daily increase of about 600 seats daily on the route.
However, no data is available as yet for the month of September complete with the problems created due to the attack on New York. Last month the airline was the first to offer a new automated check-in and ticket terminals at the new Athens International Airport, but it is not clear as to whether or not check-in service (only for passengers with hand luggage) will continue.
