Wyndham Opens 87 New Hotels, Adds 9,500 Rooms in 2023
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, the world’s largest hotel franchising company with 25 brands and approximately 9,200 hotels, achieved milestone growth across Europe, Middle East, Eurasia, and Africa in 2023.
According to the company’s full-year results for the region, Wyndham in 2023. introduced 9 brands into new countries, signed 107 franchise agreements, opened 87 hotels, and added 9,500 rooms.
Anchored by its “OwnerFirst” approach to franchising, the growth underscores Wyndham’s strong reputation throughout the region and its long-term commitment to helping deliver success for owners and franchisees.

Inclusive of last year’s additions, the company now has 639 hotels throughout EMEA, 12 of which are managed, representing over 88,000 rooms across 15 brands with a pipeline of over 150 hotels.

Wyndham adds to Greece portfolio
Wyndham last year welcomed its first Registry Collection Hotel in Europe in Halkidiki.
The 171-room, 5-star Ajul Luxury Hotel & Spa Resort, owned and operated by Wyndham’s long-standing partner Zeus International, was added to a portfolio of Registry Collection properties in Mexico, Panama, Brazil, Dominican Republic, and Jamaica.
Currently, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has a portfolio of 14 hotels in Greece and Cyprus. This includes three hotels in Athens, two in Loutraki, and one in Vravrona, Nea Makri, Thessaloniki, Halkidiki, Alexandroupolis, Corfu, Rhodes, and Crete, as well as one hotel in Cyprus.
Among other highlights last year for Wyndham across EMEA, the company opened the first Vienna House Easy by Wyndham hotel in central Berlin; opened 11 hotels in Türkiye; drove growth for its Trademark Collection by Wyndham brand, with new brand entries into Malta, Portugal, Türkiye and Qatar; and debuted Wyndham Grand in Kracow, Dolce by Wyndham in Milan and Super 8 by Wyndham in the UK.
