Greece to Participate in ‘Tourism EXPO Japan 2024’ in September
Greece will promote its tourism offerings this September at the “Tourism EXPO Japan 2024” travel festival, according to an announcement by the Greek Tourism Ministry.
One of the world’s largest annual travel festivals, the “Tourism EXPO Japan” brings together countries and regions from around the world and destinations from all over Japan. The 2024 edition will take place at Tokyo Big Sight in September under the theme “Travel, An Encounter With New Value Awaits”.
Greece’s participation in the expo was announced on Thursday during a meeting between Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the new ambassador of Japan to Greece, Koichi Ito.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the promotion of bilateral tourism cooperation and spoke about the tourism events, which are planned on both sides, within the framework of the Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism 2024.
Greek tourism minister to visit Japan in September
Minister Kefalogianni informed the ambassador that she plans to visit Japan at the end of next September, on the occasion of Greece’s participation in the “Tourism EXPO Japan 2024” travel festival. Kefalogianni said her agenda will include meetings with politicians and tourism officials. The minister also plans to attend the Tourism Ministry’s events in Japan, which are to take place as part of the Greece-Japan Year of Culture and Tourism 2024 initiative.
Among these events, a special reprint of Kazantzakis’ iconic piece of travel literature “Travelling in Japan” will be presented in Greek and the Japanese language.
While in Japan, Kefalogianni will explore the possibilities of a scheduled direct air connection between Greece and Japan, and also promote investment and business cooperation in the field of tourism.
The “Tourism EXPO Japan 2024” travel festival will run September 26-29. The expo is organized by the Japan Travel and Tourism Association, the Japan Association of Travel Agents (JATA) and the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO).
