Athens and China Further Develop Relations in Tourism and Culture
The Municipality of Athens and China agreed this week to work together to strengthen ties through the joint promotion of tourism and culture.
In this direction, Athens Development and Destination Management Agency (ADDMA) CEO Ioannis Georgizas and China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC) Deputy Director Cui Binzhen signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) which foresees join initiatives in culture, tourism, film and television, as well as participation in international film and culture events.
Additionally, the This is Athens-Convention & Visitors Bureauu (ACVB) also discussed the possibility of cooperating with China to promote conference tourism in the Greek capital.
“The City of Athens warmly supports this initiative of cultural exchange between Greece and China. Our peoples have always shown their mutual appreciation and respect, which is why any cooperation between Greece and China has solid foundations to succeed”, Georgizas stressed.
On his part, Binzhen said the focus will be on cinema and television, books, as well as cultural exchange through international collaborations. He went on to invite a delegation for the ADDMA to participate in the Beijing culture fair in September.
