Greece Still a Top Holiday Destination for Israelis, Say Professionals
Greece remains a top holiday destination for Israeli travelers, according to the Greek Tourism Ministry.
The ministry’s announcement follows feedback from Israel-based tourism professionals and media collected by the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) after participating with a stand at the recent International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) expo in Tel Aviv.
In its 30th edition, the exhibition is known for offering a platform for professionals to showcase their destinations, make business deals and stay updated on the latest travel trends.
The IMTM 2024 exhibition was inaugurated by Israel’s tourism minister, Haim Katz, who expressed his gratitude to the countries that participated in the exhibition. Greece was the first country to be mentioned by the minister during his speech.
During the exhibition, Katz visited the Greek stand and was welcomed by the Ambassador of Greece in Tel Aviv Kyriakos Loukakis; the Head of the Office for Economic and Commercial relations of the Embassy of Greece in Vienna, Michail Vrettakis; the Secretary of Economic and Commercial Affairs, Eleftherios Dotsikas; and representatives of the Greek Tourism Ministry and the GNTO.
Held in February, the IMTM exhibition this year aimed to be the meeting center for tourism professionals from all over the world, featuring dozens of countries and aiming to solidify tourism relations and reinforce the travel industry.
