Thessaloniki Tourism Organization’s Stand Applauded at Expo in Prague
The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) was honored for its stand’s impressive appearance during the recent Holiday World & Region World tourism exhibition in Prague.
More than 302 exhibitors from 24 countries took part in the 32nd edition of the Holiday World & Region World exhibition that ran at the PVA Expo Prague exhibition center during March 15–17.
The stand of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) received the award for the most impressive exposition up to 25-square-meters at the annual tourism exhibition Holiday World & Region World, according to the organization’s recent announcement.
“We adapt to modern tourism trends and the new reality… We work systematically, with a plan, partnerships, and synergies, to introduce Thessaloniki around the world,” said the organization’s new president and mayor of the city, Stelios Angeloudis, in an announcement.
According to the organization, Thessaloniki is gaining popularity as a tourism destination in the Czech market. SmartWings has announced a new direct route between Thessaloniki and Prague. Flights between the two cities will operate four times a week starting in April. At the moment, passengers are served from Bratislava with two flights a week to Thessaloniki carried out by Ryanair.
During the Holiday World & Region World tourism fair, the TTO promoted the tourism product of Thessaloniki with a focus on sustainable tourism in a stand it shared with the Region of Central Macedonia and the tourism organizations of Halkidiki and Pieria. According to the organization, the joint stand is part of a partnership aimed to promote the destinations of northern Greece to audiences in international exhibitions in cities including Utrecht, Munich, Budapest and Bucharest.
Also present at the exhibition was the TTO’s former president, Voula Patoulidou, who congratulated Angeloudis on winning the award.
“I am happy for every distinction of the TTO, because it confirms the correct strategy we have followed all these years,” Patoulidou said.
