Greece and Qatar Look to Bolster Tourism Collaboration
Ways to strengthen the tourism collaboration between Greece and Qatar was recently discussed in Athens between Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni and the Ambassador of Qatar to Greece, Ali bin Khalfan Al Mansouri.
During a meeting at the tourism ministry, Kefalogianni informed the ambassador on the great opportunities available in Greece for investments in the tourism sector.
According to the minister, Greece is one of the most popular destinations for people from Arab countries, which shows from “the ever-increasing number visitors to Greece”.
Among the many topics touched during the meeting was boosting air connectivity to Greece to increase tourist flows, especially from leading destinations in Asia where the country does not direct flight connections.
Kefalogianni and the Qatari ambassador also discussed updating a previously signed Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries and exchanging tourism know-how.
Moreover, the possibility of Kegalogianni visiting Qatar in the near future was also discussed.
It is noted that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis recently visited Doha to strengthen bilateral relations between Greece and Qatar and deepen cooperation in various sectors.
