Numo to Open New Hotel on Mykonos Inspired by 60s and 70s Glamor
Greek hospitality company Numo Hotels & Resorts has announced that it will open a new boutique resort on the island of Mykonos, aiming to redefine the concept of authentic hospitality in Greece.
Set to open in summer 2024, the new Numo Mykonos will merge the allure of the cosmopolitan Greek island with the timeless charm of the 60s and 70s – eras which were the main source of inspiration for the boutique resort’s style.
Situated on Kalafatis Beach, Numo Mykonos is located in a traditional Mykonian building that has been redesigned by Hotel IM in partnership with architectural firm What the Studio. According to Numo Hotels & Resorts, the aim was to maintain and focus attention on traditional Cycladic features and incorporate modern styles with locally sourced materials.
The new hotel has eight categories of rooms and suites, all with a decor of an “unpretentious luxurious style” with black and white striped marble floors, built-in beds and sitting areas – inspired by vintage styles and traditional Mykonian architecture.
Further elevating the offering of Numo Mykonos is the resort’s Anemoessa Restaurant that offers an authentic Mykonian dining experience thanks to Executive Chef Nikos Kourkoutas who has curated a menu with recipes based on local products blended with authentic Greek cuisine creations.
Guests at the Numo Mykonos can also enjoy locally inspired cocktails and beverages at the chic Màre Màre bar.
The hotel also offers rejuvenating spa treatments at the Etherea Boutique Spa, workout sessions at the Ensoma Fitness Area, refreshing swims in the main pool and shopping opportunities at the Mosaique boutique.
Numo Hotels & Resorts’ new hotel on Mykonos follows the opening of the five-star Numo Ierapetra, a luxury resort located on an “off the beaten path” part of Crete and also a member of the Curio Collection By Hilton brand.
Spyros Kouris, the company’s managing director, says the goal of Numo Hotels & Resorts is to “redefine unique locations”, create strong ties with the respective communities and promote their best features.
“Numo Mykonos is our next important step… We chose the island of Mykonos, one of the most popular destinations in the world, to leave our own creative mark and show the personality of the Numo brand to a demanding but such a strong audience,” he said.
NUMO Hotels & Resorts operates on different market segments, with properties that aim both for adults and families. The company also represents the brand Troulis Royal Collection, which includes The Royal Blue Resort & Spa, The Royal Senses Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton and the Troulis Apart hotel.
