Third Greek-Italian Friendship Festival to Take Place in Apulia
The 3rd Festival of Greek-Italian Friendship “Two peoples, one history 2024” will kick off on February 15, aiming to expand bilateral relations between Greece and Italy.
Co-organized by the Greek association “Nea Koinè” of the Cultural Centre of Greek-Italian Friendship of Messolonghi and the Italian cultural association “Nuova Koinè” of the Greek-speaking villages of Salento, the initiative will take place in the Italian region of Apulia.
According to an announcement, the two associations are planning to hold events all year round in both Greece and Italy. The events will focus on the Greek language, dialect and music combined with the arts and traditions of the two countries.
The 3rd Festival of Greek-Italian Friendship also aims to promote Greek cultural tourism in international markets and is held under the auspices of Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).
It is noted that the Municipality of Messolonghi and the Union of Greek-speaking Municipalities of Gretia Salentina became “sister cities” in April 2029, an initiative supported by the Cultural Centre of Greek-Italian Friendship of Messolonghi “Nea Koinè” and the “Nuova Koinè” association
