ITA Airways and Korean Air Connect their Networks with New Codeshare Agreement
ITA Airways, the Italian national carrier, and Korean Air, the South Korean carrier, recently signed a codeshare agreement connecting their networks.
According to an announcement by ITA Airways, the agreement will provide more travel options for customers of both companies, who will benefit from connectivity via Rome Fiumicino and Seoul Incheon, the two airlines’ hubs.
The agreement started on November 21 with Korean Air now applying its “KE” code on 11 Italian destinations in connection with Rome Fiumicino airport (Bologna, Venice, Turin, Trieste, Genoa, Bari, Brindisi, Florence, Catania, Palermo, Naples), and on 5 international destinations (Madrid, Barcelona, Athens, Cairo, Munich).
The new commercial partnership is expected to facilitate business relations between the two nations and increase tourist flows.
ITA Airways now applies its “AZ” code on the services operated by Korean Air between Italy (Rome Fiumicino and Milan Malpensa) and South Korea (Seoul Incheon) on 2 domestic Korean destinations (Pusan and Daegu) and on 4 Japanese destinations (Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, Sapporo).
The two airlines are also already working to expand their cooperation in order to offer their customers further travel combinations.
