SKY express Joins IATA’s 25by2025 Initiative to Promote Gender Equality in Aviation
Aiming to foster diversity and gender balance within the aviation industry, Greek airline SKY express announced its commitment to the 25by25 initiative of the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
Brought to life in 2019, 25by2025 is a global initiative led by IATA to enhance diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) in the aviation industry and achieve a 25 percent increase in the number of women in senior positions and under-represented operational departments by the year 2025.
The Greek airline’s commitment was announced and signed during IATA’s Wings of Change Europe (WoCE) event held in Amsterdam.
IATA’s Director Talent, Learning, Engagement & Diversity, Jane Hoskisson, praised SKY express for its participation in the 25by2025 initiative.
“By joining the initiative, SKY express is present among 200 airlines that see diversity, equality and inclusion as a driver of positive change,” she said.
IATA’s 25by2025 initiative is an important step towards a more equitable and inclusive aviation industry. With the commitment of all parties to achieve a 25 percent increase in the number of women in senior positions by 2025, SKY express aims to contribute to the relative transformation of the aviation industry in a way that reflects the diversity and potential of its people.
“This is an important milestone that reflects our commitment to a more sustainable and gender-equal future for the aviation industry. We are proud to be contributing to the change,” IOGR Group (SKY express) General Manager Vasiliki Christidi said.
SKY express’ commitment includes the key pillars: Equal Opportunities, Inclusive Work Environment, Education & Training Awareness, and Partnerships & Synergies.
Held during November 14-15, IATA’s WoCE event gathered aviation leaders, regulators, and subject matter experts to discuss air transport’s top issues and opportunities to jointly agree on future actions.
