Air Serbia’s 10th Anniversary: New Uniforms, Profits, and Growth
Air Serbia, the national carrier of the Republic of Serbia, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of launching operations under a new name and with a new visual identity, with numerous milestones, including record profits, new uniforms, and 22 new destinations.
In the past decade, the company has completely transformed its operations, doubling the number of destinations in its network to over 80. The airline has also added three new long-haul destinations: New York, Tianjin, and Chicago. Its fleet has also been completely renewed and now consists of two Airbus A330-220 wide-body aircraft, 13 Airbus A320 family narrow-body aircraft, and seven ATR turboprop aircraft for regional flights.
Air Serbia has also made significant financial progress in recent years. In the first half of 2023, the airline posted a profit of 22.4 million euros, which is almost the same as the profit for the entire 2022.
The airline is celebrating 10 years of operations with numerous activities and upgrades, including the modernization of the company’s website, the introduction of new boarding music, as well as a special postal stamp designed in cooperation with the PUE Post of Serbia.
Furthermore the company launched new uniforms that combine motifs of Serbian cultural heritage with the airline’s recognizable symbols.
The new uniforms will be worn by cabin and flight crew members, as well as ground service and Premium Lounge teams and sales agents in all Air Serbia retail shops.
In addition to its new uniforms, Air Serbia also celebrated its anniversary with a special light installation on the Belgrade Tower.
Air Serbia CEO Jiri Marek said that the past 10 years have helped the airline become stronger and better prepared for the future.
“We are entering a new decade of operations as a regional leader,” Marek said. “With the youngest fleet in the region, over 1,400 employees, and a clearly defined sustainable development strategy, we are moving forward at an even faster pace, ready to adapt to any change in the market, operate profitably, and constantly upgrade our service in the interest of our passengers,” he added.
Air Serbia is the national airline of the Republic of Serbia, the successor of the first national airline, Aeroput, established in Belgrade in 1927.
Air Serbia operates scheduled, seasonal and charter flights to over 70 destinations in Europe, the Mediterranean, North America, Asia and Africa, in passenger and cargo traffic.
