ITA Airways Takes Delivery of First Airbus A321neo Aircraft
Italy’s flag carrier ITA Airways on Thursday took delivery of its first A321neo aircraft after it rolled out of Airbus’ Hamburg paint shop in Germany.
The aircraft is the largest member of the Airbus A320neo Family and offers unparalleled range and performance. It is also the first ITA Airways narrowbody aircraft to feature a three-class configuration.
The A321neo is equipped with the latest generation engines and aerodynamics, which deliver 22 percent lower fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per seat compared to previous-generation aircraft. It also has a 50 percent reduced noise footprint.
The cabin interior of the A321neo is designed by Walter de Silva and features new colors, materials, and seats. It also has XL overhead bins and a state-of-the-art inflight entertainment system with 4K resolution displays.
The A321neo will join the ITA Airways fleet by the end of 2023 and will be used on the airline’s medium-haul routes.
The Airbus A321neo is a major innovation for ITA Airways and its addition further consolidates the company’s all-Airbus fleet strategy. It is also a significant step forward in ITA Airways’ commitment to sustainability and customer service.
