Greece’s Renewed Tourism Board to Play Leading Role
Strengthening Greece’s international reputation and brand name is the top priority of the newly appointed board of directors at the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), said Tourism Minister Olga Kefalogianni during the board’s first meeting this week.
The new appointments are aimed at making the GNTO more creative, outgoing and flexible in order for the organization to be able to play a leading role in the country’s tourism strategy, she said.
Kefalogianni went on to add that members of the GNTO’s new board bring knowledge, experience and passion to their posts and will work together to pave the way for new creative chapter.
To achieve the best promotion of Greece abroad, it is vital that the GNTO showcase the characteristics that differentiate the country in modern way with the use of all new technologies, she said.
“The role of the Greek National Tourism Organization is pivotal for Greek tourism particularly at this moment in time… it can and should play a leading role,” said Kefalogianni.
The minister expressed her confidence in the GNTO’s “human potential and their capabilities to respond to all challenges, however complex”.
Lastly, Kefalogianni said she was committed to making the GNTO “stronger, more reliable, more modern and efficient”. The goal she said is for the GNTO to take the lead, to be at the forefront”.
