Celestyal Journey Departs Piraeus on Maiden Aegean Voyage
The Celestyal Journey, Celestyal Cruises’ newest ship, recently set sail on its maiden voyage around the Aegean, following an extensive multimillion refurbishment and technical overhaul.
The ship departed from Piraeus, Athens, carrying out Celestyal’s inaugural seven-night “Idyllic Aegean” itinerary which includes visits to Thessaloniki, Kusadasi, Heraklion (Crete), Santorini, Mykonos and Milos. The itinerary was previously operated by the Celestyal Crystal.
“On September 2 we successfully launched a new direction to our Celestyal product offering, as we celebrated our newest ship, Celestyal Journey, taking to the seas,” Celestyal Cruises CEO Chris Theophilides said.
One of the key features on the Celestyal Journey is the large number of more spacious and higher class cabins. The 1,260-passenger mid-size cruise ship features 630 cabins, 149 of which have balconies – three times as many cabins as Celestyal has previously had on its seven-night cruises. Of the 149 cabins with balconies, 120 are Junior Suites, 28 are Grand Suites and one is the spacious Penthouse Concept Suite.
“It’s an extremely exciting time for us at Celestyal as we continue our investment into the fleet, with this occasion marking the start of a new chapter in the company’s vision to offer a new premium stay-in-style experience,” Theophilides added.
The onboard experience of the Celestyal Journey includes seven decadent dining venues, eight bars and lounges, a live show lounge that spans two decks, a vibrant Kids Club, expansive sun decks, two shimmering pools and an entire deck dedicated to wellness. Additionally, Celestyal Journey also features two fully equipped conference rooms making the ship a venue for meetings and incentives.
Special offer
To celebrate Journey’s inaugural voyage and to showcase the substantially increased premium balcony capacity onboard, Celestyal is extending its special promotion of a complimentary suite upgrade on all Journey bookings made until October 31, for travel for the rest of the year. This includes their award winning seven night, ‘Three Continents’ itinerary which commences on the new ship from October 21, and the special 8-, 11-, 18- and 19-night festive sailings departing in December (on December 16 for the 11- and 19-night sailing, December 9 for the 18-night sailing, and 27 December for the 8-night sailing respectively).
The seven-night “Idyllic Aegean” itinerary was previously operated by the Celestyal Crystal. Celestyal Cruises now operates two ships, Celestyal Journey and Celestyal Olympia.
