The Neoma Hotel in Athens recently hosted a wine tasting event in collaboration with the Château Margüi wine estate.
The private gathering, organized by the Neoma Hotel team, welcomed distinguished guests from the artistic, journalistic, and business sectors, including the CEO of Château Margüi from France.
Guests had the opportunity to savor a variety of Château Margüi’s wines, accompanied by specially prepared finger food by Neoma Hotel‘s chef. Against the backdrop of the Acropolis and the city of Athens, guests enjoyed moments of tranquility and relaxation.
Château Margüi’s winery, renovated in 2018, operates with a gravity flow system across three levels, ensuring a gentle winemaking process.
Grapes are sorted on the second floor before undergoing delicate pressing on the first floor using pneumatic presses. The juices are then carefully transferred to the ground floor winery, where temperature control is closely monitored.
The white grapes, harvested slightly over-ripe in some vineyards, produce a rich and distinctive wine. Part of the white wine is aged in new French oak barrels, adding depth to the flavor profile.
Furthermore, Château Margüi’s rosé wine showcases the diversity of grape varieties, mainly grenache, syrah, and cinsault, and the unique characteristics of the region. The terroir contributes to a balanced wine with a harmonious blend of acidity, fruitiness, and roundness.
Neoma Hotel opened in May 2022 in the historic Philopappou area. With 16 rooms offering views of the Acropolis, the hotel provides curated public areas, including a gym and a restaurant, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay for guests.
The Neoma Sky Restaurant & Bar offers carefully crafted dishes using locally sourced ingredients, creating a fusion of flavors. With attentive service and breathtaking views of the city skyline, the rooftop restaurant is an ideal for a romantic dinner, a business meeting, or a night out with friends.
The Neoma Hotel and Château Margüi wine tasting event showcased the perfect blend of culinary artistry, winemaking excellence, and warm hospitality.
