AEGEAN Airlines Supports NGOs with Easter Gifts to Passengers
In support of NGOs, AEGEAN Airlines, Greece’s national carrier, is offering festive candles to its young passengers during the Easter period.
The candles are made to support the work of Doctors of the World and ELEPAP – Rehabilitation for The Disabled, and will be given to children traveling on AEGEAN’s domestic flights on Greek Orthodox Good Friday (14/04) and Easter Saturday (15/04).
This symbolic gesture is just one way in which AEGEAN is supporting vulnerable social groups and those in need. In addition to the children’s candles, white candles will also be handed to all adults traveling on domestic flights, carrying the spirit of the Greek Orthodox Easter celebrations.
Throughout the week, AEGEAN has been offering specially made meals for both business class and economy class passengers who are fasting. Those traveling on domestic flights have been gifted with chocolate eggs, fasting snacks, and the traditional Greek Easter sweet bread (“tsoureki”). Passengers bound for Corfu will also be offered small traditional clay jugs honoring the island’s Easter custom of Botides.
On Easter Sunday and Monday, business class passengers traveling with AEGEAN will be treated to a special festive menu, while sweets made by famous Greek pastry chef Stelios Parliaros will be handed out to young travelers.
Greek Orthodox Easter is the most popular holiday period in Greece, with multiple mainland and island destinations welcoming domestic and international visitors. AEGEAN’s offers during this period keep up with Greek traditions and local customs and ensure that everyone who travels during this special time of the year can celebrate.
