Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias and the Ambassador of Canada to Greece, Anna-Karine Asselin, have agreed to explore ways to further strengthen tourist flows between the two countries.
During a meeting at the Greek Tourism Ministry in Athens on Friday, Kikilias highlighted that Air Canada’s recently launched direct flights between Greece and Canada are a strong driver for achieving common goals and increasing traffic in both directions.
Kikilias’ meeting with the ambassador took place just a few days after Air Canada resumed its flights to Greece for the 2023 season.
Air Canada’s direct flights (Toronto-Athens and Montreal-Athens) once again started early – on March 28 – and will operate until the end of October. The flights may be extended until November.
Regarding Air Transat, the direct flights from Toronto and Montreal to Athens International Airport (AIA) will take place from May to October.
Moreover, during the meeting, Kikilias and Asselin focused on the strategic relationship between the two countries and the bridge built by the large presence of the Greek diaspora in Canada.
