Thessaloniki Wine Show 2023 to Host 130 Acclaimed Wineries
The Thessaloniki Wine Show, one of the most important wine exhibitions in Greece, is set to return on April 2-3, at the Thessaloniki International Exhibition and Congress Center (TIF-Helexpo).
Launched in 2019, the event is aimed at the wine-loving public as well as professionals, merchants, importers, buyers and sommeliers of selected hotels, restaurants, wine bars, beach bars, and clubs of Northern Greece.
This year’s wine show will take place at the Pavilion of Nations (Pavilion 6) at the exhibition center in Thessaloniki.
According to an announcement, the show this year will be bigger as it will host 130 renowned wineries, boutique wineries, and distribution networks. A parallel program will also run, featuring innovative products and Greek producers that stand out for their high quality.
Among the Thessaloniki Wine Show highlights will be the Alternative Wine Bar that will present selected mild or zero intervention, biodynamic, organic, and vegan wines from all over Greece.
These wines will be curated and presented by two of the best Greek sommeliers, Theologis Plakopoulos and Nikolas Kyriakidis, to winemakers who will talk about their wines and particular approach to winemaking, holistic theory, and sustainable cultivation.
Another unique feature of the show will be the Best of Aris Sklavenitis event, where the top 20 wines of 2022 selected by the three time Best Greek Sommelier award winner Aris Sklavenitis will be presented.
The event will also also include the Cocktail Bar, where eight selected Thessaloniki bars will propose two cocktails inspired and based on Greek vine varieties with a minimum of 50 ml of wine used in each cocktail.
In addition, the show will host a series of masterclasses that will offer the public and professionals a different visual and approach to Greek wine.
Aside from wine-related activities, the event will run with a specially – designed music backdrop, transforming it into a multidimensional experience.
