Greece and Brazil Agree to Work Together for Tourism

Greece and Brazil agreed this week to work together in the areas of tourism, defense, and aviation, during a visit to Brazil by Greek Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias.
Dendias and Brazil’s Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira signed three bilateral agreements in this direction. With regard to tourism, the two ministers signed a memorandum of cooperation covering airline services and tourism.
Among others, they also agreed to work together within the scope of international organizations to further strengthen ties between the two countries and discussed issues concerning the economy, investments, culture and the environment which will top the agenda of the 9th “Our Ocean Conference 2024” to be hosted by Greece.

“We have inaugurated a new era in our bilateral relations on the basis of the deep-rooted friendship between Greece and Brazil, based on our shared values,” said Dendias, adding that the two countries must resume bilateral political consultations on a more regular basis.
“Enhancing our bilateral trade and economic relations with Brazil, the largest, by far, economy in this region, is one of the biggest economic priorities of the government,” he said.
Lastly, Dendias thanked Brazil for supporting Greece’s bid for the United Nations Security Council for the period 2025-2026.
During his visit to Brazil, Dendias also met with diaspora Greek communities and associations. Brazil was the first stop of Dendias’ five-day tour of Latin and Central America.
