Kastoria Announces Destination Branding Framework for Tourism
The northern Greek town of Kastoria recently unveiled its new destination brand and logo as part of a strategic plan to attract more tourist flows to the area.
The new logo, which was inspired by the town’s lake, mountainous surroundings and strong Byzantine culture presence, was unveiled at a special event organized by the Municipality of Kastoria.
The design features the letter “K” prominently and incorporates a font that symbolizes the lake’s waves. The logo’s unique positioning on the side emphasizes the intersection of nature, history, and culture.
According to Kastoria Mayor Yannis Korentsidis, the new logo will serve as the town’s “trademark” as a tourism destination. He added that branding the destination was “essential” to fully support and promote its advantages.
The branding framework and logo were developed through discussions with local officials, tourism stakeholders, and visitors’ research conducted by Wise Ram SA, a Greek consulting company that specializes in tourism, hospitality, and marketing services.

During the event, Kastoria’s Culture and Tourism Deputy Mayor Athanasios Rimos thanked the company for its effort and collaboration. He highlighted that carrying out Kastoria’s tourism strategy will “soon yield positive results”.
Kastoria’s multicultural heritage and natural beauty is to be promoted as an ideal wellness and pilgrimage destination.
According to municipal officials, more actions will be taken in 2023 as part of Kastoria’s branding strategy to boost tourism development.
