EU Commissioner for Transport to Attend Posidonia 2022 Shipping Expo in Greece

The European Commissioner for Transport Adina Valean will attend this year’s Posidonia exhibition, the shipping industry’s most prestigious event, in Greece.

Posidonia 2022 will open its doors on June 6 at the Athens Metropolitan Expo and run until June 10.

Commissioner Valean will open the exhibition together with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and have the pleasure to tour.

According to Posidonia Exhibitions, the organizer of the event, Commissioner Valean will also give a press briefing on the first day of the exhibition and inform about the latest developments in the maritime, aviation, rail and road files, including:

– the implementation of the Solidarity Lanes plan of actions to help Ukraine export its agricultural products and prevent a food crisis

– upcoming rules on use of sustainable fuels in maritime and aviation, as well as the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure across Europe

– the potential of innovation for further greening maritime transport, especially in the context of the Posidonia fair.

The press briefing will take place at 16:30 in Athens Metropolitan Expo at Seminar Room 2, Ηall 2. It will be held in English and will be moderated by the Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Greece, Ms. Niovi Ringou.
