Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens Shows its Holiday Spirit

The Hotel Grande Bretagne in Athens officially kicked off the holiday season last week with the lighting ceremony of its Christmas tree in the lobby.

The stunning seven-meter tall Christmas tree features impressive decoration including glittering garlands, ornaments and more than 20,000 lights that create a unique festive atmosphere.

The festive season was launched by young Helen from “The Ark of the World” non-profit organization without the presence of the hotel’s friends and associates due to Covid-19 safety measures.

“Although it had been impossible to gather guests around the tree and listen to the Christmas carols, the lighting ceremony retained its charitable purpose,” the hotel’s management said in an announcement.

Being part of a socially responsible company, Hotel Grande Bretagne continues its special fundraising campaign for “The Ark of the World”, a voluntary non-profit organization for the protection of mothers and children.

“During the last 23 years, The Ark’s Father Antonios has been striving to help young unprotected children, who experience difficult circumstances such as abandonment, lack of medical care and an uncertain future,” the announcement said.

From December 4 and for six months, 1.50 euros will be added to each receipt issued at the hotel’s restaurants – with the customers’ consent – and donated to support The Ark’s work.
