ASTA Greece Chapter Shortlisted for Award by American Society of Travel Advisors
Greece is among the five countries that have been shortlisted in the “ASTA Chapter on the Rise” category of the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) 2021 Awards.
The winners of the ASTA 2021 Awards will be announced during the Society’s global convention to be held in Chicago during August 23-25.
The ASTA Awards program aims to promote excellence within the travel industry and recognizes the organizations and professionals who make long-lasting contributions to the industry.
Every year, the ASTA convention gathers over 2,000 attendees. This year’s event is considered even more significant for the restart of global tourism. Its agenda offers knowledge and unique networking opportunities to participants.
The ASTA Greece Chapter will be represented by its president – responsible also for Cyprus – Leonidas Babanis.
“Since October 2020, when I took the helm of the chapter, I’ve seen a very positive response from hotels and tourism agencies that wish to become members of ASTA,” he said.
Babanis noted that ASTA’s Greek chapter will soon announce a program of events for 2021-2022 with the aim to increase tourism flows from the US.
“We expect three airlines – United Airlines, American Airlines and Emirates – to continue flights from the United States to Greece this fall, which will strengthen our presence in the American market,” he added.
