Greece Extends Domestic Flight Restrictions Until March 22
The Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) on Saturday extended travel restrictions for domestic flights in Greece until 6am on Monday, March 22.
According to the HCAA’s updated aviation directive (NOTAM), all non-essential travel between Greek prefectures remains prohibited.
The ban on non-essential domestic air travel is part of the Greek government’s efforts to curb the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the country and concerns all domestic scheduled, commercial and general/business flights.
The updated aviation directive states that only essential travel is allowed for health and business reasons, family reunification, and returning to permanent residence.
Covid-19 travel restrictions for all international flights to Greece have also been extended until March 22. The restrictions include a 7-day quarantine measure for all arrivals from abroad as well as special restrictions for flights to Greece from the UK, the United Arab Emirates, Albania, North Macedonia and Russia.
