Former Greek Deputy Tourism Minister Appointed Professor at Aegean University
Manos Konsolas, a Member of the Hellenic Parliament for the Dodecanese, was recently appointed as Professor at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of the Aegean.
The Greek MP had served as Greece’s Deputy Tourism Minister from July 2019 until the government reshuffle that took place in early January 2021.
Konsolas has a 19-year academic career during which he developed teaching, administrative, research and authoritative action in higher education.
“I have been a member of the family of the Aegean University for a long time. It is a great honor for me to be elected a professor by colleagues from different Greek and foreign universities that positively evaluate my work,” Konsolas said in an announcement.
He previously served as associate professor at the university’s Faculty of Humanities and has also taught in several interdepartmental and postgraduate programs.
The Greek MP is also a research fellow in several institutes and state institutions and a member of international scientific and educational associations.
Konsolas is a graduate of the Pedagogical Academy of Rhodes, the University of the Aegean and the National School of Education, from which he obtained his Doctoral thesis.
He has been elected MP in the electoral district of the Dodecanese since 2012.
