Tourism Minister Discusses Contracts for Hotel Doctors in Greece
More than 500 doctors have so far signed short-term contracts with seasonal and year-round hotels in Greece, according to a recent announcement of the Greek Tourism Ministry.
The cooperation of doctors with hotels throughout Greece are among the preventative measures aimed at ensuring safety for visitors, hotel professionals and destinations, in the aftermath of the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis.
Details surrounding the contracts signed between doctors and hotels were discussed during a meeting on June 18 between Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis, Hellenic Chamber of Hotels President Alexandros Vasilikos and Panhellenic Medical Association President Athanasios Exadaktylos. The president of the Panhellenic Federation of Hoteliers, Grigoris Tassios, participated in the meeting by phone.
According to the announced measures by the government, doctors on call at Greek hotels will act on the instructions of EODY for testing suspected cases of Covid-19. Also, through telemedicine, doctors will be able to monitor suspected cases in hotels.
