Ios Invites Travelers to Visit with New Campaign – Videos

The Municipality of Ios has launched a new campaign, inviting travelers to visit the island and experience a special summer holiday.

Under the motto “Ios has ‘cleaned up’ for you this year”, the campaign passes messages of volunteerism and caring for the environment through a series of videos.

To prepare for the tourism season ahead, the municipality joined forces with the residents and professionals of the island and – thanks to the contribution of dozens of volunteers – held several cleanup operations on Ios’ beaches.

The results can be seen on the following video which is also going viral on social media:

In addition, seven volunteer divers recently cleaned the seabed of Ios’ harbor by removing a significant amount of trash.

Ios ready to welcome visitors

In addition, the island’s tourism businesses say they are ready to offer their services to travelers.

“The island’s tourism professionals will provide special offers to travelers, while maintaining their high-quality of services… The alleys of Chora, the distinctive port, the large organized and unorganized beaches and the preventive measures taken by tourism professionals and the municipality ensure safe, affordable and authentic holidays,” the municipality said in an announcement.

Ios has been repeatedly praised for its nature, crystal-clear waters and stunning sunsets by foreign media including CNN, Vogue and The Independent.

According to Ios Municipal Council President Ploutonas Koritsiadis, the island this year will be promoted through a new collaboration with an international TV network to 70 countries around the world.

“We invest in our environment and the sea… We are waiting for you this summer to experience this wonderful destination,” he said.
