Aiming to boost arrivals from Denmark to Halkidiki, Greek travel agency Prima Holidays has partnered with Danish tour operator Primo Tours for the launch of charter flights to Thessaloniki this year.

According to Prima Holidays, from May 4 until October 18, charter flights carrying 174 passengers from the city of Billund in Denmark will arrive weekly to Thessaloniki. The Danish visitors will then be transfered to Halkidiki, which is a disctance of some 40 km from Thessaloniki.

“We are very pleased to have been able to open the destination of Halkidiki to the Danish market,” said Prima Holidays General Manager Mary Fora, adding that the new Billund-Thessaloniki charter flights are expected to greatly change Halkidiki’s “low season” period.

“Primo Tours is one of our most trusted and key partners as they show great dedication to long-term partnerships with hotels and suppliers in every destination they offer holiday packages,” she said.

Primo Tours is one of Denmark’s leading tour operators that offers travel packages to a broad range of destinations around the world.

“The deals that Primo Tours makes with destinations always concerns a program of over 160 days, which shows that the company invests seriously in every destination its selects… The company’s first concern is the quality of service they offer to customers,” Fora said, adding that the tour operator’s program for Greece covers 168 days.

The announcement of the charter flights to Thessaloniki follows the signing of a two-year agreement made between Prima Holidays and Primo Tours last September for the Aristotle Municipality area in Halkidiki. Visitors arriving to Halkidiki through the tour operator will stay at hotels located in the areas of Ouranoupoli, Ierisso and Nea Roda.

“The main aim is to continue this cooperation for many years to come. Primo Tours first conducts extensive research on the destinations it chooses to do business with and then supports its decisions with long-term partnerships,” Fora said, adding that currently talks are in place to add another charter flight to Thessaloniki in 2021 in cooperation with the Kassandra Municipality.

Based in Thessaloniki, Prima Holidays specializes in incoming operation with local offices in Halkidiki, Zakynthos, Limnos, Skopelos, Loutraki and Lefkada. The Greek travel agent has special contracted rates with most hotels in the aforementioned destinations for foreign markets.
