The bluegr Hotels & Resorts group has received the “Recognized for Excellence” 4-Star Award from the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM).

The EFQM, a non profit membership organization, provides an Excellence Model as a practical tool to help organisations measure where they are on the path to excellence and what they need to do to improve.

Bluegr Hotels & Resorts has adopted the EFQM Business Excellence Model and in 2016 was honored with the EFQM Committed to Excellence 2-star award.

This year, the group achieved the 4-star rating and received the honor during a ceremony recently organized by the Hellenic Management Association (EEDE) – the EFQM partner in Greece and Cyprus – in Athens.

“However, we would not be here today without our firm, strong and straightforward leadership… Our goal is to be back on that podium again in two years to receive the next,  5-star level rating,” Barbas added.

During the last 25 years EFQM has been supporting organizations in Europe and beyond, in their efforts to reach and exceed excellence in sustainability, regardless of size or industry. With over 700 member companies, including private and public sector organizations, EFQM shares best business practices through a series of innovative activities.

The EFQM Levels of Excellence scheme was created to provide organizations with consistent Europe-wide recognition for each step of their journey towards excellence.

Bluegr Hotels & Resorts is the brainchild of Gina Mamidaki, the group’s managing director, whose vision was to establish an innovative hospitality company, aiming to achieve excellence and inspire future generations.

With five hotel units in Athens and on the islands of Crete and Rhodes, the group has diversified the concept of luxury travel by introducing its guests to properties built under three pillars of quality tourism: breathtaking locations, exceptional service and authentic experiences.

The group today consists of the Minos Beach Art Hotel – a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World; the Minos Palace Hotel & Suites, a 360° sea-view resort; the Candia Park Village; the Life Gallery Athens, and the Miramare Suites & Villas, which operates as a member of the Sunprime Hotels.
