Greece is one of the most important tourist destinations. Something that we often forget though is that it is also a market which generates outgoing tourism towards nearly all places around the globe.

All along, Greeks have been characterised as extroverts with an air for entrepreneurship and as such they still often travel for business reasons.

Furthermore, despite a reduction in the last five years, there is substantial outgoing leisure travel activity. Indeed, traveling is rated by Greeks amongst the top leisure and recreation activities.

A substantial segment of Greek tourist agencies operates by providing its services to this market. It is made up of ΙΑΤΑ accredited travel agents, OTAs, tour operators and incentive houses, which are a vibrant and active part of the market characterised by well established companies with expertise and a high level of services.

They have indeed proved over the past decades that they are trustworthy and innovative partners within the international travel agency community. More notably, in specific areas such as seamen travel, they are amongst the largest providers worldwide.

We are sure that all our members will continue to strengthen and make the most of their worldwide collaborations during the period of international exhibitions. Mainly though, we encourage our colleagues all over the world to explore business opportunities in every segment of this industry.
