Turkish Airlines and Travel Plan recently took a group of nine travel agents from Tehran, Iran, on a four-day familiarisation trip to Greece for them to sample some of what the country has to offer international visitors.
As most financial and economic sanctions against Iran have now been lifted, the country has become a global business point of interest. Iran is a nation of 80 million and the two companies have joined forces to attract its outbound tourists to Greece.
“Our cooperation with local institutions and important companies in the sector such as Travel Plan, reinforces our commitment”, Mr Yavuzeser said.
According to Mr Yavuzeser, the recent fam trip was just part of a series of activities planned for 2016.
“As part of the further development of Travel Plan’s activities in incoming tourism, we are very happy that we had the opportunity to welcome in our country important tourist representatives of Iran, a market that can offer a lot to Greece”, Kostas Giokas, General Manager of Travel Plan for Greece & UAE, said.
“We would like to emphasize particularly, that our long-term close cooperation with Turkish Airlines is a key factor in our efforts”, he added.
