Aegean Chairman Vassilakis Awarded Honorary Doctorate

Aegean Airlines Chairman Theodore Vassilakis was awarded on Tuesday, an honorary doctorate degree by the University of Piraeus School of Economics, Business and International Studies, Department of Business Administration.

A self-made entrepreneur, Mr Vassilakis was awarded during a special ceremony at the Piraeus Theater for his determination, dedication and overall contribution to Greece.

The university’s Business Administration Department has thus far awarded honorary doctorates only three times to date to distinguished foreign academics.

Addressing the university students and guests, Mr Vassilakis said: “Thank you for honoring me with your presence, I dare to point out to you that while we live in an unprecedented economic crisis, we must not forget that we live in one of the most historic and most beautiful countries in the world: Greece; our Greece awaits you, and needs you now more than ever. I want to assure you that we Greeks can do miracles.”
