Aiming to boost arrivals from Israel to the mountainous region of Evrytania in central Greece, the area’s hoteliers association recently participated in the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) which ran February 9-10 in Tel Aviv.

Sofia Flega, the association’s secretary and member of the Karpenisi Tourism Committee, was on call during the exhibition to inform Israeli professionals and visitors on Evrytania’s accommodation options. The association had the support of the Municipality of Karpenisi.

Evrytania is already a popular destination among Israeli travellers and Mrs. Flega aimed to maintain the momentum. During the IMTM expo she held meetings with Israeli and Greek tour operators; the CEO of the Israel Association of Travel Agencies & Consultants, Hanny Sobol; the secretary general of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO), Dimitris Tryfonopoulos; and the president of the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FEDHATTA), Lysandros Tsilidis.
