Athens Flying Week Shoots for the Sky
Dozens of aircraft and jets — solo or in formation — will be soaring the Athenian skies on September 12-13, for this year’s Athens Flying Week, with an air show full of impressive stunts that are bound to keep both young and old on the edge of their seats.
In its fourth year, Athens Flying Week, to run September 9-13, features some of the country’s finest pilots in spectacular air acrobatics at the Tatoi military airport, north of Athens, and during the customary pre-show at the seaside suburb of Faliro on September 9. Expert flyers will defy gravity with their formations and precision flying, choreographed aerobatic and high altitude performance maneuvers.
Among the teams participating are the Hellenic Air Force, the Schaerer Model Aircraft Glider Formation Team, the Blu Circe Team, the Hawks of Romania, the Hellenic Naval Air Service, the Daedalus T-6 Demo Team, the Athenian Aviators and many more.
Exhibitions, a trade show, model aircraft displays, DJ sets, a kids’ park and other happenings will be running on the sidelines of the show and during the week.
