Museums and Sites in Greece See Visitor Numbers Rise in March
Visitors to Greek museums increased by 19.1 percent in March while revenues went up 14.7 percent, compared to the same month last year, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said on Tuesday.
According to the data, Greece’s archaeological sites welcomed 30.1 percent more visitors and collected 16.9 percent more revenue in March compared with the same month last year.
During January-March 2015, visitors to Greece’s museums were up by 12.1 percent and revenue increased by 21.4 percent, compared with the same three-month period in 2014.
During the first three months of the year, visitors to archaeological sites were up by 21.3 percent while receipts rose by 17.6 percent.
