Ten-year contract will see the replacement of SWISS existing systems, increasing and improving integration across the Lufthansa Group in tandem
Amadeus and Swiss International Air Lines have announced a long-term strategic agreement that will see the airline adopt the core modules of the Amadeus Altéa Suite to enhance its reservation, inventory and departure control processes.
By migrating to Amadeus’ fully integrated PSS solution, Switzerland’s flag carrier will also benefit from more streamlined access to accurate passenger and flight data, as other Group member carriers Lufthansa, Air Dolomiti and Austrian Airlines have already implemented Amadeus’ Altéa technology.
According to Amadeus, this in turn allows a much more seamless traveler experience across a number of different airlines within the Lufthansa Group, and will enhance partnership opportunities with other airlines, particularly across fellow Star Alliance carriers.
“Our goal is to help our customers provide innovative, market-leading products and services which match the evolving needs of the 21st Century traveler – to connect, serve and manage effectively the entire passenger experience from beginning to end,” said Julia Sattel, Senior Vice President, Airline IT, Amadeus.
SWISS’s migration to the Altéa Reservation and Inventory modules is scheduled for the beginning of 2016, with migration to Departure Control to follow in mid-2016.
“Amadeus’ state-of-the art technology will empower us to provide an even more streamlined, effective service to our customers, enhancing the overall passenger experience within the LH Group, something we have long been committed to,” said Harry Hohmeister, CEO of Swiss International Air Lines.
