Aegean Airlines Adds Two Special Flights To Transfer Holy Fire To Greek Destinations
Greek carrier Aegean Airlines has announced that it will provide two extra aircraft (non commercial flights) to distribute the Holy Fire to various destinations of the country once it arrives in Athens from Jerusalem on Easter Saturday, 19 April.
The aircraft, which will depart immediately after the arrival of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem, will cover two geographical areas: the Aegean and the Ionian. Flights will be chartered exclusively for the transfer of the Holy Fire to Ioannina, Corfu, Kefalonia, Zakynthos, Mykonos, Samos, Kos and Lesvos.
Also, the departure times of the following scheduled flights to Heraklion, Chios, Santorini, Kavala and Thessaloniki on Saturday have changed to accommodate the transfer of the fire:
A3 322 Athens-Heraklion, departure at 19:55 instead of 18:55
A3 278 Athens-Chios, departure at 19:00 instead of 18:00
A3 360 Athens-Santorini, departure at 19:20 instead of 18:20
A3 154 Athens-Kavala, departure at 19:10 instead of 18:00
A3 126 Athens-Thessaloniki, departure at 19:45 instead of 19:15
The transfer of the Holy Fire to Rhodes will be held on the scheduled flight AEGEAN A3 218.
