Laconia Launches Offline Travel App
Destination Laconia, southeastern Peloponnese, will get extra tourism promotion through a new offline travel application for smart phones, it was revealed at the 10th annual general assembly of the Laconia Hotels Association held recently at the Sparta Inn in Sparti.
The “Click Laconia” app will give access to the comparative advantages and characteristics of the destination and provide many options for the traveler.
The app includes all the information for the prefectures of Laconia with many photographs: Sparta, Gythio, Mani, Monemvasia and Mystras.
The content covers history, culture, suggested routes, nature, gastronomy and local products.
In regards to the app’s offline function, all content can be seen without Internet connection. However, when online, users have access to rich photographic material and features worth using.
Click Laconia supports English and Greek content.
10th annual general assembly
During the general assembly, the association’s president, Dimtris Pollalis, announced the reduction of the annual contribution of members to the association by 50 percent, starting from the year 2010 onwards.
The topics mainly discussed at the general assembly focused on the need for the local hoteliers to strengthen ties with tourism and build on the destination’s comparative advantages.
The association also focused on the necessity to improve the offered services at hotels.
