The new special zoning plan for tourism that will promote tourism development alongside environmental protection in Greece, is expected to be ready by the end of the year, Greek press reports said recently.
According to reports, the special zoning plan -promoted by the Tourism Ministry in collaboration with the Environment Ministry – is intended to enrich the classical mass tourism model with quality features of luxury tourism.
It will also facilitate investment projects in tourism and infrastructure (ports, marinas, hospitals, etc.).
Once the law is ready, a 20-day consultation will follow and it will be submitted to Greek Parliament and voted on, reports said.
