SETE to Hold Tourism Conference in the Fall
The Association of Greek Tourist Enterprises is to hold its seventh annual Tourism & Development Conference on 6-7 October.
The main topic of the conference is ‘Factors and criteria of efficiency for tourism governmental policies’ and keynote speakers at the conference will be representatives of international organizations (UNWTO – World Tourism Organization, International Hotel & Restaurant Association), representatives of tourist business associations from abroad and representatives from tourism businesses.
Given the challenge of the effectiveness of government tourism development policies and given the potential of the public sector, the association intends to explore and define areas that need intervention and suggest how to implement government policies where inconsistencies and inadequacies are noticed. The association will also examine the possibility of the implementation of private sector initiatives in order to assist with these shortcomings.
The association’s annual tourism and development conferences have proved important to open discussions and create public dialogue on tourism and are aimed at investors, entrepreneurs, senior business executives and public sector officials who aspire to have an active role in the development of Greek tourism.
