Whether amateur or professional, restless athletes are invited to this year’s Santorini Experience, to take place on the Cycladic island on October 6-8, offering swimmers and runners the thrill of a lifetime.
Organized by the municipality of Thira and the Santorini Municipal Sports, Culture and Environmental Organization in collaboration with Active Media Group, the 3rd Santorini Experience comes to highlight the importance of exercise while tapping into the ever-growing potential of sports tourism.
The Santorini Experience is all about ‘the experience’ with runners taking the narrow roads of Imerovigli, Firostefani and Oia and their breathtaking views, as swimmers test their mettle under the imposing volcano.
“It is with great pleasure that we welcome the 3rd Santorini Experience to our island. Another unique life experience filled with energy and volcanic ‘aura’. The event is growing into a tradition as demonstrated by the participation of both locals and visitors,’’ said Thira Mayor Anastasios-Nicholaos Zorzos.
‘’As a year-round destination, Santorini offers alternative options and the Santorini Experience is no exception. We continue in our effort, we support and participate actively, so that our island can remain a tourist favorite.”
