New York Show Promotes Greece
GreecExpo, a showcase of available luxury tourism products in Greece, takes place at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on April 8 and 9 of this year. Organizers expect to welcome more than 20,000 visitors, both travel professionals and the general public. Some 120 exhibitors will display Greek tourism products.
The fair’s organizers say the mission of GreecExpo is to project the new composite image of Greece, presenting both traditional and modern values that will identify Greece to the American audiences in the Lincoln Center, the most appropriate venue since it is recognized by all Americans as the cultural institution par excellence representative of the values of democracy, freedom, culture, security and relaxation, values shared in common with the Greeks.
GreecExpo organizers say the objective is to give a window of opportunity to businesses to break into the American market and to bring American and Greek tourism professionals together by promoting the comparative advantage Greece has to offer as a country.
An estimated 120,000 people visit the Lincoln Center complex a week. In addition, another 100 million worldwide are part of the Lincoln Center audience through television and radio presentations, recordings, videos, constituent tours, education programs, and outreach activities.
Along with the fair, the organizers offer a variety of attractions such as art exhibitions, Greek breakfasts and lunches for travel professionals with a series of educational seminars, Greek Cafe and a large culture program that includes Greek traditional music nights, movie screening, and a Mykonos dance party and fashion show.
