Riding this boom, the market for Indian cruise travellers is also expected to reach 7 million by 2022. With the government announcing cruise tourism development as a project of national importance, the number of cruise ships visiting India is expected to jump from 158 to 955 in the next 5 years.The number of cruise passengers to Indian shores is also poised for a meteoric rise – from less than 50,000 to over 4 million arrivals.
