Ash Monday 2013 In Athens
Hotels in Athens are offering guests to the Greek capital a journey through taste with inspiring menus created especially for Ash Monday (18 March) or “Kathara Deftera” as the day is known in Greece.
For Ash Monday, guests at the Plaza Lounge can enjoy a buffet of fasting cold and warm appetizers, traditional steaming bean soup, a variety of Lenten sweets and ouzo… on the house.
The price is €24 per person. 50% discount for children under 12 years.
From 19 March, lent at the NJV Athens Plaza begins with the most delicious way at The Parliament as chef Yiannis Baxevanis has created a menu with seafood and Greek taste combinations. The menu will be available until Easter.

The Titania Hotel greets Lent with flavors inspired from the diet of ascetic monks of Mount Athos. The monastic cuisine is based on products of the Greek countryside and sea, such as olive oil, legumes, vegetables and seafood.
From Ash Monday (18 March) to Good Friday (3 May), the La Brasserie will serve Lenten dishes daily from an extensive menu specially designed for the Lent season by the hotel’s executive chef Christos Tziliras.
