The Greek island of Ios is moving ahead with the creation of its own waterway after the finalization of the licensing process by the Transport Ministry.
The operation of the first waterway network in Greece, set to link the Ionian islands, has been deferred to 2021 due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Greece's first waterway network is expected to operate in the Ionian this year as licenses are expected to be granted soon for waterways at the destinations of Paxi, Patra, Zakynthos, Kefalonia and Lefkada.
Chinese investors will be visiting the Ionian island of Corfu, on Sunday, to discuss collaborating with the operators of the Corfu waterway, which is the first and thus far only enterprise granted official licensing.
