Greek Tourist Compensation Scheme Causes Reactions

The deputy minister’s recent statements in Germany that Greece will compensate tourists for delays that are the result of strikes does not honor the country, according to Fedon Kotsampopoulos, spokesman for the German-Greek Business Association (DHW).

During the press conference, Culture and Tourism Minister Pavlos Geroulanos told journalists that the ministry has decided to compensate visitors to Greece in cases where they are “forced” to remain in the country due to strikes or volcanic ash, etc. The compensation is in regards to accommodation and meals.

Ministry Slams Acropolis Takeover By Leftist Unionists

While a hard battle is fought throughout the world to recover Greek tourism, this move is at the least irresponsible, the Culture and Tourism Ministry recently said in regards to the takeover of the Acropolis by the Communist Party of Greece (KKE)-affiliated labor union PAME.
