The Greek Council of State, the highest court in Greece, has approved the draft presidential decree which refers to the development plan and strategic environmental impact study of a major tourism project on Crete.
Greece is expected to record some 22.5 million foreign tourist arrivals (including cruise passengers) this year, compared to 19.9 million visitors in 2013, according to a recent report released by Alpha Bank.
Greece has become an attractive destination for tourism investment after promoting a series of measures such as introducing new tourism products, amending spatial plans, simplifying licensing procedures for tourism businesses and modernizing infrastructure.
