Ways to attract higher quality visitors and bring in investments topped the agenda of talks between the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE) and EU officials.
Tourism is the sector that supports employment more than any other in Greece, with the number of employees reaching 398,700 in the third quarter of 2017.
Greece may have found itself between a rock and a hard place this summer with everything from capital controls and political instability to lingering talk of a “grexit” and a painful refugee influx but it appears that nothing managed to keep tourists aside.
