Environment groups in Greece are up in arms over a decision by the Greek Finance Ministry to do away with a clause that foresees the protection of the shoreline.
The right to use the shoreline, which includes the placement of tables, umbrellas and recliners will be granted via e-auction, the economy ministry announced.
Parties wishing to make use of shoreline, beach or river bank in Greece will be able to bid online, while leasing time will be reduced from five to three years.
